Phoenix Airport Launches Free Low-Vision Navigation App for Travelers

Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport has launched a new accessibility partnership with ReBokeh Vision Technologies to provide free access to its mobile-based assistive technology for travelers and staff with low vision.

The initiative also extends to Deer Valley Airport and Goodyear Airport, making Phoenix the first airport in the southwestern United States to adopt the technology.

The ReBokeh app allows users to adjust how they see their surroundings in real time using smartphone camera filters that enhance contrast, zoom, and lighting. It is designed to support people with partial sight by improving visibility of signs, screens, and navigation points throughout airport spaces.

The tool also includes AI-powered features that can describe surroundings and answer user questions, helping passengers navigate independently and with greater confidence. It aims to reduce reliance on purely audio-based assistance by enhancing usable vision.

The partnership reflects a broader shift in airport accessibility strategies, focusing on personalized, tech-enabled navigation tools that improve independence for passengers with visual impairments.

It signals continued expansion of assistive technology integration in transportation hubs.
