Students Experience Air Travel Challenges Through a Blindfolded Accessibility Exercise
Students participated in a hands-on airport exercise designed to help them understand what traveling can be like for people with visual impairments. The activity involved students navigating the airport while blindfolded, giving them an opportunity to experience some of the challenges that can arise when visual information is unavailable. The exercise highlights why accessible airport environments and appropriate assistance are important for travelers with disabilities. It also provides an experiential approach to disability awareness, helping students consider how everyday travel systems may create barriers for people with visual impairments. Activities like this can encourage greater awareness of accessibility needs and support conversations about making air travel more inclusive.
