Ukraine Launches Digital Accessibility Resource for Government Agencies

Ukraine’s Digital Accessibility Competence Centre has launched a new web accessibility resource designed to provide government agencies with practical information on creating accessible digital services. The centre, established in 2024 under the Diia State Enterprise, advises government authorities and works on improving accessibility across public digital resources. UNDP Ukraine, with support from Sweden, also provided the first official Ukrainian translation of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, which underpins Ukraine’s state accessibility standard. More than 5,000 government representatives have received web accessibility training since 2021. The initiative strengthens public-sector capacity to make government websites and online content more accessible.
